About the Author
Lynn Levine was born in Brooklyn and moved to Vermont in 1974. Four years later, having received her masters degree in forestry from the University of Massachusetts, Lynn became the first female consulting forester in New England. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about protecting the integrity of the forest.
Lynn has inspired young people and adults to connect with the woods. She has taken thousands of people into the forest to share her love of nature, and to spur others to feel the same. She has found that, for example, teaching tracking, ferns, trees and being immersed in the forest are powerful ways to spark and enhance that bond.
Martha Mitchell is co-author of: Mammal Tracks and Scat: Life-Size Tracking Guide.
